I’d be willing to bet that the majority of successful online poker players would not be where they are today if it weren’t for being a member of a poker forum or two. This is because poker forums have tons of threads with advice and strategies for all kinds of situations. A player can learn more from a day of reading forum posts then they would by reviewing their own hand histories.
Don’t forget the interaction with other players either. You can learn a lot from a discussion over an individual hand. Each player may do something different and have a reason why. So you can learn more about how other players break down situations, as well as have more options when you find yourself in similar situations.
In short, the learning possibilities are endless in poker forums. That’s why we’ve decided to list our 3 favorite poker forums. We hope that you find these as useful as we have.
Best 3 Forums for Poker Players
2+2 Forums: There is no way you can have a toplist about poker forums without mentioning 2+2. They’re easily the biggest forum with nearly 1 million threads and over 25 million posts. When I checked their forum out for the purpose of this toplist, there were more than 3,000 visitors, half being members and the other half being guests.
So, what will you find at 2+2? A little bit of everything. There are forums dedicated to low, mid and high stakes SNGS, MTTs and cash games. You can find forums for B&M poker, poker tools and other forms of casino gambling. And then there is a “off topic” section. This consists of over 10 topics, all of which have their own forums. In short, this place is huge.
PTP Forums: The forum at Part Time Poker is my personal favorite and is where I’ve spent most of my time. The PTP forums have over 800,000 threads with 8.5 million posts. When I checked them out to write this toplist, they had 360 visitors with 2/3 of that being members.
While PTP has forums for strategy and bad beats, what they’re mostly known for is staking and coaching. They have an intricate system in place that keeps track of money sent/received, makeup owed and total money invested. PTP makes it very easy for players (or investors) to get started with diversifying their poker cash flow.
Cardschat Forums: Cardschat is our 3rd recommendation. They have over 130,000 threads and over 1.3 million posts. 185 users were online when I visited the forum.
I think what I like about Cardschat is they don’t have a ton of forums to wade through. It’s a “poker” forum, so you’ll only find poker related sub forums like strategy (beginner, cash, MTT), info on poker rooms and general poker discussion.
What’s Your Favorite Online Poker Forum?
What I listed above is only a few of the most popular forums for poker players online. But there are tens, if not hundreds (maybe thousands?) that I don’t know about or have yet to visit — especially forums that belong to individual webmasters (instead of private companies).
So now it’s your turn to chime in. Do you visit the forums we listed above — why or why not? Or, do you have a personal favorite that you care to share? Let us know in the comments below.
